2,000,000 Today, Governor Jindal issued a statement following the release of the Bureau of Labor Statistics Regional and State Employment and Unemployment Summary, which reported that the number of people employed in Louisiana’s civilian labor force reached another record high, exceeding 2 million for the first time in Louisiana history. The report also highlighted that Louisiana’s unemployment rate remained 4.5 percent, best in the 17-state southern region.
